A BESPOKE CELEBRATION OF NEW BEGINNINGS
INTRODUCTION
In March 2025, Sugar & Rind had the pleasure of planning an intimate, but dramatically themed party for a wonderful client, Vanessa Vasquez. Set in her newly acquired London home, this was no ordinary moving-in party – it was a bold and symbolic event and we built this into the ethereal theme of the Blood Red Moon. With just 50 guests, we created an incredible atmosphere for this private soirée, which was luxurious and immersive and fantastic to work on.
THE BRIEF
Vanessa approached us to help her host a housewarming with a celestial twist. She wanted ‘everything red’ and the aesthetic of a Blood Red Moon. Our team needed to completely transform her home into a glowing and spectacular venue, to reflect a fresh start and celebrate with friends and family.
OUR SOLUTION
We worked in Vanessa’s home to turn it into a glowing red sanctuary of celebration for the Blood Red Moon concept. From lighting to cocktails, every detail helped to create an ambiance that was celestial and inviting.
EVENT DESIGN
We sourced a stunning selection of rich red candles, candelabras, lanterns and golden tea lights from our friends at Hurrah Hire. These were placed throughout the home and garden and the effect was hypnotic for this bespoke celebration.
We used red lighting gels to transform the outdoor space and continue the party from inside to out. We used a projector to beam a striking image of a blood red moon onto a pristine white wall, which created an effective focal point for guests as they arrived.
DRINKS & DINING
Our fantastic drinks team designed two custom cocktails that mirrored the theme:
- ‘Blood from the Moon’ – a seductive blend of flavours with red chilli heat
- ‘Fraise Sauvage’ – a bright, strawberry-spiked cocktail with hints of wild berry
Both were served over ice with jewel-like garnishes to reflect the moon’s fiery palette, so they really looked stunning, and tasted delicious of course (you can take our word for it!).
To complement the drinks, we enlisted the help of the ever-brilliant Chilli Bees Catering. They provided masses of tempting canapés which Vanessa’s guests happily grazed on as they explored the party rooms.
MUSIC & MOVEMENT
We brought in DJ Onetrax for the night, who delivered an electrifying mix of Latin beats. This was our way of incorporating music that would honour Vanessa’s Bolivian roots and get everyone on the dance floor – and the entire party was dancing late into the night.
