BROWN & BURK – 25 YEARS OF SUCCESS
The brief was simple but ambitious: create a luxury celebration to mark Brown & Burk’s 25th anniversary in the UK pharmaceutical industry. The client wanted an all-day experience with a river cruise followed by a gala dinner, something that would feel both indulgent and unforgettable.
We explored the idea of taking the party overseas to Jersey or Guernsey, but in the end, London — with all its sparkle and grandeur — won the day. And what a day it turned out to be.
A Sunlit Start on the Thames
On the morning of Saturday, 6th September, 200 guests stepped aboard The Silver Sturgeon, a gleaming luxury boat moored on the Thames. The atmosphere was instantly celebratory. Glasses of chilled champagne clinked, canapés were served with flair, and a violinist’s delicate notes floated through the air as the boat slipped away from the dock.
As the city’s landmarks drifted by, guests were treated to something extraordinary — a mind-reading performance by the brilliant Alex Crowe. His ability to surprise and entertain left everyone buzzing with disbelief and laughter. The sun shone, the river sparkled, and the mood could not have been more perfect.
From River to Red Carpet
After the cruise, guests returned to the Club Quarters Hotel, conveniently located next to the evening venue, for a chance to rest and refresh. Then came the second act.
At 8 Northumberland Avenue, the evening unfolded in true style. Guests were greeted not just with champagne, but by Bollywood hostesses, champagne mirror madames, and gold mirror men, shimmering under the lights. The transformation from daytime sophistication to night-time spectacle was complete.
A Night of Glamour and Surprise
Dinner, created by the exceptional Madhus, was a sumptuous three-course affair, perfectly matched to the occasion. As plates were cleared, the entertainment began — a seamless cascade of performances that kept energy levels soaring.
- A contortionist defied gravity with impossible grace.
- Flames lit up the room in a daring fire performance.
- Bollywood dancers and dohl drummers brought rhythm, colour, and movement.
- A belly dancer mesmerised the crowd with elegance and flair.
There was also a moment of distinction: Seema Malhotra, MP for Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, took the stage to deliver a heartfelt speech — a true honour for Brown & Burk on such a milestone evening.
A Finale to Remember
As the night drew on, the atmosphere shifted once more — this time into pure celebration. A drag queen DJ took control of the decks, dancers joined the guests on the floor, and performers wove through the crowd, blurring the line between stage and celebration. The result was a dance floor alive with laughter, joy, and connection — the perfect ending to a truly remarkable day.
